no WGL extensions?

With just moving cross country, And waiting on my Playstations to arrive, I decided to use an emulator to play my games until they arrive.

I downloaded Petes openGL plugin. But everytime I try to fire up my games, I get a error box stating "No WGL extensions!" (on a side note, it also resets my resolution =X) Anyway....Any ideas what I'm missing? I can't seem to find WGL extension downloads...and I'm beginning to lose hair!

Thanks in advance.

Edit-I read the post on the following page. But the problem is...I am running directx and a GeForce card

Wow...Thanks again. Wasn't asking for help that time, But man...I wish the mods on other forums were that quick ^.^ Props to you.

Sigh. Here's to being a pain.

Ok, so I open the configuration tool for openGL 1.76, And in it, there is no shader effects button. It goes right from compatability to misc options. Does this mean I cant use the shaders, since POGLv2.8 doesnt work for me?

Only the OGL2 plugin can use shaders. Which GeForce card are you using? There's a lot of them between the original 256 and the 7950GX2 .

That card should be able to run OGL2, although I do not recommend running shaders on it. Have you tried updating your drivers?

Well, even though the specs say fx 5200 can handle 2.0 shaders, i haven't seen one pull it off, even on retail games for pc, if you try a game that requires 2.0 shaders the fx series will only run if you configure it for 1.1 (Like Oblivion for example)

the 5200 is way too slow for shaders. i had a 256mb 5600 and it only loaded a few shaders, and the ones it did load, i got really, really bad performance.

I have, and the speed is very bad. I watched my friend play Halo on a 5200 at 800x600, medium-low settings, and with PS 2.0, he got about 8-13 fps. When we forced it to PS 1.1, it jumped up to about 18-30. Unless you have an overclocked 5700 Ultra, or a 59xx, it's not worth it to use shaders with FX series cards.

Alrighty. After sleeping on it, I went and downloaded Version: 91.47 for Nvidia forceware cards. Im about to try POGL2 again, so. Here's to hoping!

And after reading comments...I think I'll just leave shaders alone...heh.

Edit--Woot, Works. ^.^
