OGL2 Shader Issues

Greetings.

I have recently tried Pete's OGL2 plugin and followed some config specs i found on the forum. The plugin works fine, but the problem i get is when i enable any shader options.

At first it told me there were missing shader extensions, it then occured to me that i had none at all so i downloaded a few packs from the shader thread stickied in this sub-forum.

Still no luck. I have set the shader folders so the plugin knows where they are but i still get the missing extension error. The only way i can use OGL2 is by turning off all options with shader in it.

All i can think of is that it is my graphics card, but since im using a GF6600GT i did not think this would be an issue. Iv'e followed guides to the letter but perhaps i am missing something obvious here, or it may just be that my card doesnt support these shader extensions (though i have a hard time believing this since its a fairly new model when you compare it to a 5200 or something.)

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Missing extensions usually mean that your card can't handle shaders, but yours surely can. The only other thing i can think is that you are lacking dirver support for that particular extension. Try upgrading with the latest drivers from nVidia.

Thank you for the reply's.

I am currently using the latest NVIDIA drivers, 91.47, and i am still getting the same errors. Perhaps i need to use a specific driver version?

One other thing, when i set the shader extension to ARB all i get is the missing extension error, when it is set to GLSang i get two errors, the missing extension error and missing GLSang files. Yet the files are within the ePSXe directory and i have specified where they are in the driver settings.

I am using Shadx's Natural Vision shader files (modded by SimoneT)

Once again any help will be greatly appreciated, thank you

EDIT - I have been messing around with some settings in the hope of getting it to work and have found something curious. When i run a game (in this case FF9) with Shader Filtering + Effects turned on and "Use pixel shader for "PSX Texture Window" emulation" turned on i get the usual missing extension errors then ePSXe crashes. Now if i turn off "Use pixel shader for "PSX Texture Window" emulation" and run FF9 i still get the extension errors but ePSXe does not crash and the game runs, but at quarter the size of my monitor, when i try and fullscreen it ePSXe will crash. Not sure if this is relevant to my problem but i thought i would mention it anyway.

I have got it to work now anyway. I tried using a custom set of 91.47 drivers and the shader extensions now work.

eh? with every driver i tried (8x.xx and 9x.xx ones) the shaders worked fine, and im also using a 6600GT, perhaps the modded driver has specific settings one them, that you were not able to configure before.

This problem occurs on an ati 9800 256mb i have tried. It also was the drivers. Not sure why the other drivers had that issue.

thats because some newer drivers adds some additional OpenGL extensions to your system that the emulator requires.
