Help for FF7 on Intel GMA 950
Hello, I would like some help on configering FF7 for my laptop which have GMA 950.
Here's my problem, I can get everything to work right BUT GMA 950 doesn't have hardware transform and lightning support nor vertex shader support. (The reason is that they are all supported through software pipeline Which is a real Bummer) And this leads to no fading in or out(beggining of the game where it shows the logo) and no battle swirls nor any special effects that are like that. AND the worst of all it lags when going into battle and out of battle. I've tried all pete's 3d plugins with all kinds of settings found in this forum but alas... they all still have no special effects... I've also tried many other plugins found here in ngemu but they're even worse off then the pete's plugin... so I was wondering, is there any ways around it or am I stuck? P.S. Don't say anything about software plugins... I want Nice Graphics. :P ---- extra question out of curiosity ---- Is there a plugin that dectect if you have the neccecery hardware extention and when it find that there isn't it uses software emulation to make up for the lost extention? but alas i just had to buy it on labour day cause I think that's the best deal so far... o well maybe they'll upgrade their driver and that'll give some more improvements... after all GMA 950 clocks at 400mhz, the same as most modern cards.that aside After i posted the thread above i continued to search around for more information on how to get this d*** thing to work and as you suggested I used the OGL plugin. And then I've found a site that tells you how to configure FF games at http://www.lordkane.co.uk/ After reading and experimenting it finally it begins to make sense :P but OGL is still slightly slow in the effects (Dame intel) so I used the D3D version of pete's plugin... and IT Worked! now the only problem left is the slowdown after the battle in the experience, gil and item page... ...and maybe i shouldn't have started this topic... i'm kinda figure this thing out all by myself lol. But thanks for the help hushypushy. (give you a cookie) :P Last edited by jamiekao526; September 19th, 2006 at 03:54. |

Lowering filtering and not using 2D filters like 2xsai and such will help with that slow screens.
