Question which CDR plugin is the best for FF9?

first of all hi to all

so i already know that the best SPU is eternal 1.10
for GPU i'm using Pete's D3D driver 1.54
but which plugin should i use for CDR?

my PC stats:

Intel celeron, ~MMX, ~468MHz
64MB RAM
SoundMAX Digital Audio
ATAPI CDROM.48X
DirectX 8.0
Windows 98
(i know i have to upgrade my PC, but i have no money )

i always use pete's cdr 1.7(additional speed) so i hope you get my point

yup, I use Pete's also. And if you have a PAL version of FF9, this plugin will help you a lot for patching the game.

Pete's plugin is great, so is the internal. But if you really want a speed up, you'll have to make an ISO. That's the fastest.

pete's CDR 1.7

it has:
Real time Patching features
CD drive Speed limiter
and Scratch CD retry

and is compatible with 9x/2000&XP
be sure to read the doc's there are some SPU settings you'll need to do if your using windows 2000&XP.

thanks you all, I really appreciated you'r help

fro now on I'll use Pete's CDR 1.7

i have some other question:

when I'm using epsxecutor with ePSXe 1.4 the first CD of FF9 crashes after the first letters of introduction "squaresoft" . And this is happening not only with ff9... all multi disc games(only first CD) are crashing!:sad:

so if u can help me i would be very grateful

But what's the difference with the cd plugins? is it just the speed?

There are more differences than speed. Sometimes a game that works with one plugin may not work with another.

AFAIK, you are correct. It does slightly change the list of loading commands in ePSXe's DOS window, though...

kingking 3rd: Yeah, I use the TSG MSCDEX plugin too. I find it works almost as good as ISO's - with Pete's, I seem to get a lot of stuttering with some games.

I dunno but When I play it loads the screens slowly unless i'm using
epsxe core cd plugin
