Read this post. You do know what is FRAPS, right? My point is that you probably think that those 25 fps are the half of the framerate that MGS should be running, nope, with PC fps calc enabled the fps is calculated in a different way, those 25 fps can be full speed.

PC FPS calc shows it as the "real" FPS for some reason. so NTSC games will show 30 FPS and PAL will show 25 fps. and it will be running at full speed.

Make sure that you have PC FPS calculation on!! Is MGS the only game that doesn't work? If yes, then continue posting here. If no (i.e., there are other games you're having problems with, or perhaps every game), then make your own thread.

My in game sound was cracky when I was using Eternal SPU Plugin. I was changing the Buffer size but still the sound was crap. But when I changed to P.E.Op.S. Sound Plugin the sound was superb. Here are my settings for the plugin:

I found that it crackled, that's why I used PC FPS calculation and it was fixed. The sound is really weird and missing certain effect when I use Pete's Dsound, though. Well, at least it's working for you

So. I wanted badly to get Eternal to work, better yet, I wanted to get Pete's OGL2 to work with the sound. They worked with all the other games. But alas, I couldn't get them to work with MGS for the sound under any circumstances. In the end I copied NightDemons settings and went for P.E.Oblahblahblah. Works PERFECTLY. I'm running it on ePSXe by the way. Good lord am I glad I got it working though. People using ePSXe who can't get the sound right should at best, try the settings NightDemon suggested. And thanks to NightDemon himself for posting that. |

Use ePSXe instead. PS : can anyone drop me a save-state just before the crash (in PSXeven), so I can do some test. (I have a PAL MGS (FR))

There you go. I'm almost certain it's the graphics, because it crashes right when it's about to play the pre-rendered video. EDIT: epsxe doesn't crash, but doesn't play any sound. The pre-rendered videos of the game seem to be quite an issue with emulators. epsxe gives no sound, PSXeven crashes and pSX plays them with very, very screwed up sound. Both epsxe and pSX play the movies with a strap of the right end of the movie stuck on the left. it's a known issue with pSX, but apparently it happens with epsxe too.
