The zip file doesn't work. When I open it up, it shows all the items in my current directory as if they were inside the zip file. Could you attach the files that are supposed to be inside it? Thanks

I like the cartoon shader the most. Just makes the most sense to me since some games just look unbelievable when they have that "Jet Grind Radio" look.

Hi! I just found out about those shader things and they look amazing on some screenshots. Unfortunately a lot of them don't work for me, sometimes they are too slow sometimes they are too ugly My computer has Intel Core 2 processor running at 4.0 ghz, 2gb ram and ati radeon x1950pro graphics card. Can someone please give me good configuration. I want my FF7 to look good and not lag. I like those cartoon shaders but other shaders are OK too if I could just make them work right

There are a number of things that could be causing the slowdown, including the type of shader. Do you get a slowdown w/o a shader loaded?

As for configuring them, the cartoon ones have some documented instructions on how to config them.

I'd help you more, but the only one i've really worked with is the colored storybook to get it to work better with Chrono Cross (#1 doesn't show text well and #2 doesn't show hardly anything well, but i think I have a good setup for it now).

Nice. But It gets a visual too bumped. Looks like a coin.
Pseudo Bloom is more clear.
Id love to experiment those plugins on My PC but my "mainboard" got messed up. It literally burned and damaged my processor, videocard and HD's. I'll have a lot of work to restore it.

Don't expect much beauty using cartoon/storybook shaders on sprite and mixed sprite/3D games. FF7, FF8..., ChronoCross have their moments with them but would need a different from-the-begining texture handling for something called at least acceptable.

They (Cartoon, Storybook shaders) are fast enough for anything with a 3DMark2003 score of 5000 or higher.

Currently some games can IMO look nice with them, for example Spyro the dragon or Crash bandicoot etc.
What matters the most is the native PSX game resolution.

For the combined sprite/3D 320x240 games i reccomend something with an AA touch (AA shader, Natural vision shader).

I've gotten Chrono Cross colored storybook ones to be atleast marginally acceptable, but you're right. It can be made to look good in one area and bad in another. This is especially true with FMV andthe menus. Even now though I'm not really satisfied for it, though I think the concept of the shader would be very approrpiate for a CC.

Can you recommend some shaders that actually enhances the picture and playing experience? Celshading and cartoon shaders are fun for a while but Im looking for shaders that makes the default game look better and that are worth using all the time.

I've tried to use ShadX's Natural Vision Shader (Modded by SimoneT) with Intel GM 950 is not working, do anyone know why? Perhaps because it's onboard (notebook) graphic?

They are shaders for the OG2 plugin.

2.3 version notes (3.11.2007)

- 2xSaL, 2xSaL smart, 4xGLSoft, 4xMSAL shaders added, some removed.
- note: 2xSaL smart, 4xGLSoft look nice with 2D-3D combined games with higher internal resolutions.
- note: 4xMSAL is blurry, but looks much nicer on textures as linear filtering.

***4xGLSoft shader***

- Looks nice with almost any game.
- Use a 4x resolution (like 1280x960 for 320x240 games) without fullscreen smoothing ON.
- They can be nicely used in any other resolutions, fullscreen smoothing improoves the quality,
try different internal x and y resolutins for finding the right combo.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

***2xSaL smart shader***

- Looks nice with any game, esspecialy sprite games.
- The fullscreen smoothing is default OFF.
- May look blury in higher display res. (like above 1024x768).

Best to leave OGL2 texture filters at "0: None". Same counts for the Hi-res textures.
