Your dumbass question of the day
Hey all.
First of all, I have a Geforce 3 64mb, and I'm using pete's D3D 1.5.2 (I think that's the right version). And my games look like re-fried crap. A.k.a. everything looks like it's in software mode. Then I take a look at the shots on this site and they're all in glorious hardware mode acceleration 99 billion color paramavision. So, I suppose the question is -- is there some magic wand I have to wave in order to get it to kick from software to hardware mode? Am I just talking goobledegook, and need to read faq after faq after faq? Am I mistreating my plugins? Do I smell? Where do babies come from? If Cloud and Squall had sex with each other... would they're baby look like the guy in FFX? So many questions... So few answers... Much like Silent Hill. ::Something stirs in the corner:: Cheryl???!?!?!?!?! --j.a. Last edited by the wingless; November 6th, 2001 at 04:44. |

You might also want to try Pete's OpenGL plugin.
Ive found that that you will usually get better performance and quality out of it, with Nvidia chipsets anyway. Also the Pete's plugins are now at Version 1.54. Heres a link Pete's 1.54 Plugins. ~fluffy~

Enabling 4xFSAA will help also.

use pete's opengl plugin instead of direct3d, or use nextgl.

Also if you're using an Nvidia card, the OGL gives you better performance than the D3D plugin.

It's a Geforce card, always use pete's OpenGL (nVidia optimize drivers for openGL not D3d)
with Pete's openGL plugin and a resolution of 1280*1024 I get 60Fps on most games consistantly. No need for FSAA. Caching should be Dynamic also.... |

A GeForce3 with slowdown problems? Wow. Try 800x600, Filtering on two, 16bit color (this gives the speed a major boost), and disable Full vRAM primitives, if it's on. BTW, Framebuffer txtures on 2 and Ctching type on 3 works very well on nVIDIA cards. Try it.
