first off, test out another plugin like the D3d or OGL1, that will tell you if the issue is being triggered by a specific plugin or if it occurs in all of them.

I have been having a problem with character faces. I don't know much about the terminology of what to call it. It seems almost like as the character runs his face changes into a gumble of squares, and then when he stops the computer picks a random facial texture.

Has anyone else encountered this?

Lack of Zbuffer, the PSX does the same thing, except less noticed due to the low resolution.

So is there no way around this problem? I've seen video of the game being played on epsxe and didn't see that problem.

I've played with every option and nothing has had any effect on it.

since a real psx contains no zbuffer, no psx emulator would either and you cant really add something like that in. turning the resolution down to something like 320x240, 640x480, etc. would make the effect less noticable on an emulator, it would not get rid of it though, that is most likely what you saw.

edit- just in case you are wondering why this is- when you are using a resolution that is as close to what a real psx was using as possible (320x240, 640x480, etc. as i said), the effect is only going to closely be as noticable as it was on a real psx. when you jack the resolution up four or five times higher then what it should be, obviously the effect is going to be far more noticable.

Yeah but if you make the resolution that low, the screen will be tiny, how do you even see to play it?

You should consider the "quality" of the videos you've seen.

And at that low resolution, works the real PS hardware. If you have a CRT monitor, you can use that low resolution in fullscreen. If you have an LCD though....

Hey, decided to make an ISO of my FF8 game just to play the story again.
I have some issue though, ive searched the forum and looked around but i cant seem to find it. I guess im blind or something.
The issue im having is this.

Ive poked around the most special settings now, and it dont seem to go away.
Poked around some hour, and still the ugly menus, etc.

Can anyone point me whereabouts i can read ŕ fix of it or such?
If someone could i'd be most grateful towards you, and love you forever.

Great forums by the way.
Thanks.
(Sorry if this problem is solved, but i cant find a fix, and i have searched around.)

try using a 1-2-0 comp. setup. if that doesnt work, you might want to try remaking your image or downgrading your drivers.

edit- forgot to ask, can you post a screenshot of your current config?
