Substractive Blending

its just a question, if Ati repairs that issue (reverse substractive blending) will the problems with ati cards dissapear?

I wish. IIRC they were meant to be fixed in the Cat 3.2s but they ended up buggering up everything else. There is also the faster palletized textures (Not really an issue, apart from in certain very specific games such as Ghost in the Shell). I don't have great faith in the ATi driver team, but I think the 3.1s with a reverse subtractive blending fix would pretty much sort it....

IIRC the original post at Rage3D said they would be fixed in 3.2 or 3.3. So, maybe we'll get lucky with the next one.

Astounding the amount of faith ATi users have isn't it.

Kane,

Is there any purpose of this post besides bashing ATI? If not, why did you even bother posting it?

Well, I tried the leaked Cat 3.3, and substractive blending is indeed fixed. No need for this special game fix anymore

The can easily be found... just search for "dell cat 3.3" or something like it. But I suggest you wait, the Cat 3.4 are due to be released officialy between may 12 and may 15.

Like he said

They need to be modified to work, otherwise the only work on dell's OEM card. Anyway, the 3.4 are comming in a matters of day now, so no point in discussing these anymore
