Unhappy Terrible slowdown with FMVs

I'm playing FF7 with ePSXe with Pete's OpenGL 1.7 and whenever a video starts my Framerate drops down to 8 FPS, I've tried using different plugins, changing settings to the worst possible, tried it on my other games, different sound plugins, but no success.

Intel Pentium 4 1.8 Ghz Processor
Windows XP Home
Geforce 4 MX 440
Creative Sound Blaster Audigy Gamer
a SAMSUNG CD/CD R/RW Writer/DVD Reader

It's odd, because it was working fine before. I'm thinking it might be my hardware change, I used to have an old CD drive, I suppose I could try a temporary change to my older drive to see how that works. I'm yet to try a different emulator though, I'll try that soon and let you know how it goes.

Well, I made an ISO, and everything worked perfectly fine. So I guess it must be my CD Plugin, I can't remember what it was though

I'll try some other Plugins, thanks for the help

The dma in your cdrom was enabled?, maybe that was the cause.

Hmmm, still doesn't seem to be working with other plugins.

dma? Sorry for my ignorance, I believe I've heard of it before though.

Right click in my pc and check the properties. Then select the device manager or something like that (i dont have an english windows) and select your cdrom then check its properties and see if the dma box is checked. if not then thats the problem.

Do you have Frame Skipping enabled? If so, disable it or enable the old skippig method. Some game's FMV dont like frame skipping

Start turning to 16 bit colors instead of 32, if you're in 32, and disable FSAA

Thanks for the help everyone! I finally got it to work!

The problem wasn't what any of your suggestions were though It was just a setting in the CD Plugin.

Funny, cuz usually, when the CDR plugin isn't configured correctly, that's the MDECs who are slow, not the game :/

Well, that's what I was talking about. Was I speaking unclearly? The game ran fine, but the MDECs were slowing down...

FF7,8,9 original Framrates are 15 FPS, it should be fine to the video, but not to the Sound!

You could know that using PSXmultiConv it says that 15 FPS for each game!
