Mooby's CDR crash

Argh, I just rar-ed (best compression, it took 1 hour and half!) a bin with Winrar 3.10, then I ran ePSXe to read it...

---Loading---

Crash!!!!

so I decided to read the doc (how stupid! I should have read it BEFORE): it's written that it's compatible with 2.xx rar files only

Here are my questions:

Does anyone know when it will be compatible with 3.xx rar?

How can I compress in 2.xx with winrar 3.xx?

Yeah, thanks for ur help, but when friends borrow my games,
they don't always have ePSXe+mooby's plugin, unless there is a tool to extract .bz files without having the emu/plugin

ehehe, I know... but

I tried to open a .bz file w/ WinRAR and extract it... no problem at all (I also tried the ISO after extraction)! so, u can use the .bz compression!
another program to extract .bz files under Windows is StuffIt, make a Google search for it...

Thx, bye

yes, u need to open the .bz on WinRAR and then use the "Extract" button or option... as u can see, WinRAR doesn't show the properties of the file in the .bz archive, but this isn't important, right?

Je suis content de t'avoir aidé

Thx, bye

yes, even if I've lived in Geneva since October 2001, my French (especially the written one) is far from perfection ... but I'm making all I can to improve it

Thx, bye

cdrmooby only supports rar 2.x, not 3.x. when the rar library i use supports 3.x, my plugin will support it as well...

sure, but the bz format i use is a bit different than what winrar supports. you'll still need to use my plugin to decompress it.

Do you plan to make your plugin compatible with winrar 3.xx formats?

EDIT: Oups, I didn't noticed you double-posted

and what's the .z format?

I think Winrar can convert to 2.x now. Or can it read 2.x ? Just use something other than 3.x

- Bzip UNIX Compressed File (.BZ, replaced by .BZ2).
An open source, freely available compression program. The PPM family of statistical compressors typically produces the maximum compression for a file and Bzip compresses to 85-90% of that goal. It accomplishes this being twice as fast on compression and some six times faster on decompression. For Bzip2 see...
http://sources.redhat.com/bzip2/index.html

- Z Compressed Archive File (.Z).
Output file of the UNIX compress utility. The UNIX uncompress command is used to decompress a .Z file (although many other programs will also decompress the file).

Thx, bye

ok, the proprietary text-line based bzip2 (useful also for .bz compressed archive) decompressor/compressor, from RedHat site, ftp://sources.redhat.com/pub/bzip2/v...-x86-win32.exe (this version was compiled and tested on Windows 2000, the author doesn't know if it works also on 95/98/ME/NT/XP); the link to the bzip2 page

Thx, bye

PS obviously, as u probably need only to decompress .bz file, u can still use WinRAR
