Chrono Trigger sound plugin

What sound plugin works best with Chrono Trigger (FF Chronicles)? I've tried several, and they all seem to give me a lot of static...

Well i'm not quite sure but i think I used the internal ePSXe plugin.
That plugin worked fine for the most of my games! what do u mean by static?

Have you tried dabling SPU IRQ hack?
