Rage and Pete's Plugins 1.69&1.70
I'm not sure if it is something wrong with my graphics card in particular or the new autodetection for palettized texture windows in 1.69 and 1.70, but I am getting similar graphical glitches to the ones I got when I turned on the Faster Palettized Texture Windows option in older versions. I have a Rage Mobility M1, which I believe is a laptop's equivalent to a Rage Pro, and in the D3D plugin the menus in FFT get severely jumbled to the point where it can mess up the rest of the screen. In DX6 D3D the menus that glitch are just transparent instead, though they shouldn't be. In OpenGL there is no problem with menus.
Is there a way to manually override the autodetection and turn off the palettized textures without just going back to an earlier version? |

damn, I really hoped that nowadays gfx card drivers were finally fixed (the only reason I had for the "palettized tex" option were driver bugs, like the one you are seeing, in the past).
ok, try the following: 1. check out, if some newer gfx drivers are available for your laptop (be aware that usually the standard ATI drivers cannot be installed on laptops... there are some workarounds for that in various ATI forums, though), and install them. With luck the issues are gone. 2. If newer drivers are showing the same bug (or if there are no newer drivers at all), drop me a mail, and I'll make a special game fix for the D3D plugins. |

I have A Rage Pro Card, and It does show me what you said. when I turn Faster palettized textures, even my card support that! I have i.e: FF8 PC, and the Configuration shows that The GFX support 8x8 pallattized Textures, after Upgrading the Drivers, Fixed that problems, but there is NO MORE ATI COMPAITABLE OPENGL in my System any more! very sad! since the earlier versions of the driver support OpenGl very well, Quake ]|[ runs fine with OGL extensions!!
Lot of talk, I dont know what I am typing!!
