Pete's "new old" frameskipping method...

I have a "fast" problem, Pete: You wrote in your Readme that you finally re-implemented your old method of frameskipping by special game fix. Well, my problem is that it makes my games run twice as fast, but the "old old" frameskipping method didn't do anything like that...

Your CPU is plenty for ePSXe. Why use frameskip?

The FF7/8/9 menu screens slow down sometimes.

FF7/8/9 are exactly the games which will _hate_ any kind of skipping (missing battle menus and such). Anyway, if you want to have skipping _and_ the right speed, you have to enable fps limitation as well.

I always have fps limitation enabled, but it doesn't seem to work.

Nothing happened... it seems that this new special game fix overrides the frame limitation completely.

BTW: Pete, before you introduced the new algorithm I had run all my games (including the FF7/8/9 titles) with frame skipping enabled and I hadn't encountered any issues (battle menus, battle swirls, etc.)

yup. just checked it, you are right: with the special game fix skipping, no fps limitation is done. I will correct this, of course.

At least the soft plugin will skip the battle menus. Haven't checked it with the hw/accel plugins for a while, I have to admit (it's somewhat hard to check skipping at all on my system).

The new 1.70 plugin works just great now that it is fixed. Unfortuneately for people like me, we have to use frame skipping. Crappy Intel integrated 32 Mb gl video card.
