Start up problem

Hi everyone. I'm gonna try and make this as n00b-free as humanly possible

First off the problem. Running ePSXe, I am able to see BIOS just fine, the problem is when I try to run a rom (the rom in question being Breath of Fire 4) I get a black screen, no other video. I searched the forum for about an hour and didn't see any solution, though I did see similar problem.

Lemme get to my specs and settings.

My CPU is a Pentium 4, 2.4mhz, on a Soyo p4x400 Dragon ultra
My vide card is a Chaintec GeForce 4, Ti4200, 128mb
My ram is 512mb of DDR

The plugin I'm using is Pete's OpenGL and the settings:

I hope that's sufficient to get some help. If I can give any other information please let me know, and thanks a bunch

Are you trying to run an iso or a CD-ROM game?

What do you mean by "ROM"?
If it's a CDROM, have you configured your CDROM plugin?

I'm sorry, used to cartridge based emu I am trying to run the ISO image directly from my hard drive, not a CD. Sorry for the mix up.

I suppose you tried to run the iso this way(see pic).
I don't know if the game you're trying to run needs a ppf patch file, maybe it's required in order to get the game running properly. Is your iso ok? isn't it corrupted? is it PAL or NTSC version?
I recommend you to use the SCPH7502.bin bios image.

You are correct.

I'm not sure on this one, I'm looking on information now as to where to get patches from, I'll let you know if I find out.

It is NTCS version of the ISO, I am almost positive the iso is not corrupt. And I have tried both bios files to no avail.

Thanks for your time thus far, I'll find out if I need a patch for it and let you know.

Is a CDR plugin needed even if running the iso off my hard drive? I've tried 3 so far and it hasn't been making any difference. Pete's, Mooby's, and one other I can't remember the name.

I also found some patches. Just in case. Is there a chance they might help?

Breath Of Fire 4 PAL/NTSC Selector US - NTSC

Breath Of Fire 4 Protection Fix & PAL/NTSC Selector

Either of those sound needed?

I suggest you remake the ISO from the CD and try again.
