LOL, what "FFIX BIOS" are you tlking about? you must mean an ISO.

For ISO tutorials, please read the ePSXe FAQ in the ePSXe subforum.

i think he means the PS2's BIOS. the BIOS isn't in the games, it's in the PS2 itself, and you need a special USB cable, or a Sony Ethernet Adapter so you can connect your PC to the PS2. and of course the software to do it.

ISO= a disk image (a copy of a FF9 CD on you hard drive)
BIOS= Basic Input/Output System

as for dumping bios'...
Quote:
exerpt from ePSXe helpfile:
To dump a PlayStation BIOS, you need a GameShark or Action replay and a PC comms link. To start, you need either a real Caetla module or go to Google (http://www.google.com ) and search for "Caetla" (it's a BIOS replacement for your module, so properly read the included documentation before installing it!!).

Now upload "Caetla", and use use the caetla commands for downloading a binary memory image from the region 0x0bfc00000 - 0x0bfc7ffff! Now save the image as SCPHxxxx.bin, where xxxx is your PSX's model number, and ePSXe will recognise it and use it from now on.
that help?

is it possible to rip the chip that the psx bios is stored on, throw it on an EPROM chip reader and dump the bios that way?

***** if the bios is stored on an eprom chip.

it could be possible, you should know which chip the BIOS is stored in, its pinout as well as its signaling in order to "read" and extract from it. But better take a look at 501XX post.
