pete's D3D problem on FF9

i remember the background should change to black gradually.how to fix this?

everything can't be perfect, My screen looks exactly like yours and I'm on a GeForce4 Ti4200, what are your settings? if u want to gte that part perfect try a soft GPU

thing is, your vid card doesn't support subtractive blending, that's it... nothing wrong with the plug in.

Same problem here. I have tested it with a geforce 3 and a voodoo banshee. Gotta prove it with offscreen drawing and framebuffer to maximum settings.

D3D doesn't support the required blending style which performs that effect. Use OGL.

Pheonix flame is right. Pete didn't put the blending mode into the D3D plugin. The D3D plugin is only there for compatibility's sake.

but it seems that OGL plugin wont work w/ my Radeon 8500. any advice?

Uhhh.... oops. It's not gonna work anyway with your card....
But if you want to use openGL, set it in windowed mode, disable Faster palletised textures, and enable the fake sub blending special game fix. When the game starts, press Alt-Enter to get it fullscreen.

thx. i can use OGL plugin now, but the FF9 problem remain existed if i use the "Fake Sub. blending" option.

It will. The ATi cards don't suppot reverse subtractive blending at all. The only fix is to get an nVidia card... or wait to see if Pete can fix it...
