Pete's CDR driver stopped working...

I was playing Tales of Destiny II, and the game crashed. Tried to restart it, but couldn't. I checked the configuration, and found out that Pete's CDR isn't detecting my drive (Drive H: Samsung DVD SD-612S) anymore - it isn't listed on the Drive-pulldown tab: the only choice is now 'NONE'.

I tried downloading the new version of the driver, but that didn't help. Neither did deleting the registry entries. ...but the drive works with other drivers (SaPu's, for example), so it isn't broken or anything. What could _possibly_ cause this?!? One moment it worked just fine, the next, it doesn't even detect my drive anymore - and I cannot figure out why. If it's not a registry problem, then what is it?

I've been using SaPu's driver, and the games work just fine. Great driver. ...but it doesn't have subchannel support...

Try re-installing Force ASPI, to see if that helps.

(...though I certainly don't understand why...)

...and - as I suspected - the new reading modes in Pete's plugin do work with my drive; couldn't use subchannel support with the older version, but it now works just fine. Whee! =)
