controller not working in some games and pete OGL 1.66 slowdowns

just been trying to play NFS and wipeout, but the controller goes dead, works iin my other games, whats up with this?

also since updating to petes OGL 1.66 plugin ive had to knock the res back to 1024x768 from 1280x1024 at full detail to get my FPS up to spec.

has anyone else noticed this?

NFS/Wipeout are old games so I expect you've set your controller to analog, if so try it at digital or just press F5 once during the game.
I've not noticed any slowdowns but I find it better to run at a lower res (in most games) and use FSAA to improve the quality.

yeah i tried setting to digital and analog but neither worik, nor does controller 2.
nevermind. as you said they old and i probably would only play them once.
I was running @ 1280x1024, 8x anisotropic, quincunx FSAA with all options maxed. since my change to version 1.66 of petes OGL, ive gone back to 1024x768. no problems at that res, but just thought it was strange.

8x anisotropic
Running anisotropic filtering is pointless on epsxe as it cant take advantage of it but would turning it off speed it up if it isnt even being used?
hmmm In not sure....

Why not just go back to 1.65 ?
Just because theres a newer version out it doesnt mean you have to use it if your getting better performance with the older version.

not sure. i leave it on for most games.

im sure i could speed things up again with adjusting settings, but im still wondering why this version of the plugin has slowed things down.
I may go back to the older version, i have gone back to 1.51 as i was sick of various issues with 1.52. Like controller bugs and gran turismo 2 problems.

the post was not about asking for a fix for the slow downs, but wondering if anyone else has been noticing the same..

what i wanted to know was why the controller didnt work with some older games.
