Question 5500 vs 4500 (PCI) on Lewpy's plug

Is there any significant "REAL-TIME" differences running lewpy's plug on Voodoo5's 4500 vs 5500?

I know 5500 is stronger, but as far as "practicality" goes, I am getting the impression that 5500 does not do any better (or significant) of a job of running PSX on Lewpy's plug than 4500.

I need to know this because I'm upgrade from 5500AGP to Geforce "X", and I still want a Voodoo PCI as secondary to run PSX and older glide stuff. I may not want to shell out the extra $ for a 5500PCI if I don't think its neccessary.

I'm sticking with glide to play PSX, sorry Pete your 3D plugs is a bit to "clunky" to use.

The whole point about hte Voodoo 5 is the FSAA and Glide support, desu ne?
The FSAA on the Voodoo 4 4500 is maxed out at 2x wheras the Voodoo 5 has 4x which is substatialy better.
It all depends on why you want the Voodoo. If you want it for compatibility's sake, by all means, get the Voodoo 4, but if you want image quality get teh Voodoo 5 5500

"desu, ne"??? LOL Nihojin desu ka?

FSAA is not important to me. I'm just getting the impression that there very little differences of FPS between the two cards.

In theory, the Voodoo 5 is twice the speed (2 processors as opposed to one) however in reality, the Voodoo 4 is about 55-60% the speed of the Voodoo 5.
The Voodoos are mostly CPU limited however, so on a more powerful CPU this will be less apparent.

So I guess maybe on an Athlon 1.0ghz TB, I won't see that much of a difference?

"In therory" it would not be twice a fast because of the SLI setup. The 2 cpus (or I should say memory is more appropriate) run in "parallel", figurely speaking.

The voodo 5 also has twice the memory bandwidth as the voodoo 4's.. So in higher resolutions, it's noticeably faster.. And the voodoo 5 also peforms better at FSAA..

I would notice the difference on my 650MHz chip, but I notice less of a difference on my current chip (Athlon XP 1600+).
