I am having trouble. The voices do not work but some sounds do. The title screen voice works but the other voice do not. Here are my sound drivers.

Enable XA sounds.

If nothing works I would advice you to go back to an older version (I would go for 1.4) of epsxe and choose accurate cd rom timing option.

All the speech in Resident Evil certainly are XA audio tracks on the CD, so as long XA audio isn't enabled there won't be any speech.

I m having the same problem with the latest epsxe, the speech got cut-off or something, even with the xa sounds enabled. Notice it only occur while playing it off a disc image with the latest ePSXe. The possible solution is, as mentioned, play it with an older ePSXe or play it off a cd. Me myself got it working correctly on ePSXe 1.52 with an old image cdr plugin. I have attached it on this post, so grab it and give it a try.
