Pete Dsound audio driver is pretty fast, the internal epsxe spu plugin is also very fast, or maybe you could try eternal spu plugin lite.

If you are using Eternal's SPU (or any SPU other than the internal one), you will get stutter if, in the Sound options, you leave "Enable SPU IRQ hack" on.

Null's spu is fastest but its not very compatible.
Pete's dsound and internal ones are fast too.

If you use Eternal, you can raise the Buffer Level, but that meas that the sound may be delayed. Hope that helps.

Null's plugin suffered during the BIOS booting sequence, and that's very bad by my standards..

the fastest is segu's spu (or something like that I cant remember tghe name) but is the worst on compatibility, if u want speed and compatibility use Eternal SPU 1.20 Lite version it is fast and had great compatibility, and if want a little more speed use Petes midas spu but have less compatibility

well all this is just my observations when testing ^^

what about the older Andy's or Iori's (lite ver)? They're pretty fast and have good compatibility too (IMHO).

Yeah.... but if you have a better PC, you can use Eternal, Pete's MIDAS or D.Sound... The sound compatibility changes if you change the video plugin too....

Pete midas is an old SPU plugin, it not very compatible with new version of psx emulator SPU interface and will cause problem with many games.
