can anyone use Harakiri AnalogJoystick?

Man it's been ages since I asked for help... cos if I can't figure it out, not many can...

pcsx 1.2, Harakiri 1.03 and 1.04 (tried both)
The game is Descent Maximum (see screen shot forum)

Everything's fine with the Digital controller
But if I change it to AnalogJoystick, the game still sees a Digital.

If I press mode change (should I?) then the game loses the controller altogether, mode change again doesn't bring it back.

If anyone has an old game that supports AnalogJoystick, can you please try it with pcsx and harakiri and see if it works?
