Any help?

the lines are normal, to get rid of the white flashes enable adjust extreme coords in the special game fixes.

the adjust extreme coords fix doesn't seem to work on my machine...

I still get strobing flashes anytime light sources are around...

I will post a snap of it.

That's a known problem with all gpu plugins... but hopefully it will get fixed in 1.61/Peops 1.6

I always thought that was part of the game.

I have a problem with MGS, when I use stealth, I see a weird shadow, image, thingimajig. It doesn't matter who's using steath, I still see it. Here: Plugin: Pete's OpenGL Driver 1.1.58
Author: Pete Bernert
Card vendor: NVIDIA Corporation
GFX card: RIVA TNT2/PCI/SSE

Resolution/Color:
- 1024x768 Fullscreen - NO desktop changing
- Keep psx aspect ratio: on

Textures:
- R8G8A8A8
- Filtering: 4
- Garbage collection: off
- VRam size: 64 MBytes

Framerate:
- FPS limitation: on
- Frame skipping: on
- FPS limit: 60

Compatibility:
- Offscreen drawing: 3
- Framebuffer texture: 1
- Alpha multipass: on
- Mask bit: on
- Advanced blending: on

Misc:
- Scanlines: off
- Line mode: off
- Unfiltered FB: on
- Dithering: off
- Screen smoothing: off
- Full vram: on
- Game fixes: on [00003084]

Prolly you need to set the FB textures to "2: gfx card", but I dunno how fast your TNT card will handle that.

well in the original game the light globes generally keep to themselves... no flashing or blinding lights in the game that I can remember. Geez I guess a lot of folks here have never played on an actual playstation huh? I never thought about it, but maybe that's the case...

the blue lines in the underwater sequence seem to be the distorted wireframe of a globe surrounding the 'camera'. It's easier to see what I mean in wireframe mode, but these seem to still be showing up... is it a texture seam showing through?

While we're discussing mgs, i vaguely remember a part of the game where you have to move your controller from the first to the second port or something like that. How can that be done in the emulator?

All you'd have to do would be to setup a gamepad as controller 2 in the emu and use it. (you'd have to have another pad I think) That works on the original PSX anyway if you pick up the 2nd controller and use it.

To pass through the Psycho Mantis part, I configured some keys as the 2nd controller in ePSXe.

Okay, while we're talking about that... The problem also shows up in bleem! demo v1.4, just so you know. Here's my problem...MGS+ePSXe+[pec]=ugh...does not want to work. What's the problem? I am using the following:

System:
Duron 850 w/64mb ram
Generic 1mb PCI video card(don't laugh, it cooperates just fine)
Windows 98 FIrst Edition
4-speed CD-ROM

Plugins:
Pete's Soft GPU 1.41
[pec] GPU Plugin
Eternal SPU
Pete's CDR Plugin
SCPH-7502 BIOS (PAL)

That's pretty much it. I did try the SPU fix with the game. If anyone knows how to fix [pec] with ePSXe so it *works* then I will be so happy, as that is my goal: to get MGS working properly on my PC.

use the PEOPS 1.5 soft plug in and, MGS+ePSXe+[pec] works fine and dandy over here. use the internal sound or pete's dsound for spu, eternal 1.2 works like crap with mgs and excellent with everything else, at least for me.

Anyway, it IS possible, although very very difficult to beat Psycho Mantis without using the 2nd controller port. Um... I definitely wouldn't recommend it though, I've done it however... To get past him on the emulator though, I just did a savestate right when I started fighting him, then disabled my gamepad on port 1 and configured my gamepad for port 2, took a savestate after I beat him and switched it back.
