FFVIII problems

Alright, I'm using the PEoPS plugin, cause it seems to be the only one that will work, along with the W2K for the CDROM, and everything loads. Opening plays nicely, cutscenes great, then suddenly, I try moving from room to room and I experience severe slowdown and even the game completely stopping. I'm confused to death. Can someone help?

what are your system specs and are you playing the game from the disc or an image?

I'm playing from a disc and I'll just give you my basic specs. I don't know what's relevant, though. My processor is an intel dual-core CPU 1.73GHz, 32 bit operating system, and my graphics card is integrated.

if you are using any version of epsxe aside from 1.7.0 you need to have epsxe being run on only one of your cpu cores. playing from an image might net you better performance as well.

well, when I tried loading 1.7, it didn't load the bios right (I used scph1001.bin). I also don't know how to run it on one processor. I'm trying to load a torrent file of the game and I'm using bittorrent, but I'm not sure if it will work
