PS: sorry for my english, i'm Lithaunian ![]() PSS:it's my first post in a real forum!Yay! |

Sounds like you have a horribly messed up disc image of the game. Your best solution is simply to get a working copy of the game. pSX couldn't mess with game text like that even if it wanted to. Try the -r switch for the sound problems, though it probably won't help in this case.

Or try playing from the original CD, Jumpah. If this works Ok, you know it's your image that's at fault. Try re-ripping the game: the best formats are .ccd/.img/.sub or .mdf/.mds. .bin/.cue will work for many games, although if you're having synchronisation problems, it may not be a good idea, and .iso is best avoided. See the HOW TO: Make Disc Images thread on the official pSX forums.
It's also a good idea when posting with pSX problems to give details about the game, the emulator and your system. For the game, you need to identify it properly (there are many different versions, as you know): the game ID is the best identifier. You also need to say whether you're playing from a CD or an image and, if an image, what format. For the emulator, you need to say what version of it you're using, what BIOS you're using and, generally, any changes to the default configuration you've made on the Graphics and Sound tabs. Your system: obvious; your operating system and the hardware setup. All these things may be somehow be important for fixing your problem.

While i rip it, i'll post the details.
File name: Spyro the dragon 2-ripto's rage [u] [SCUS-94425]<---WTF? Emulator version v1.13 Bios(wtf?) scph1001.bin Graphic changes:none sound changes none.its at 150 ms on both sliders and all boxes are ticked. System windows xp(duh) as for the hardware,no idea the file type is img(i use it).theres also a .sub and a .ccd By the way, i really see no need to rip it, because it'll be that stupid russian/chinese wtf version again.Sorry if i misunderstood. |

Good points, John.
Additionally, Jumpah, it won't help re-ripping your image to a better format - once it's messed up, it's messed up. You need to rip it properly, from the original CD. That's another reason why downloading games is dumb. They're often not properly ripped, since the people posting them couldn't be bothered to take the time and trouble. They just want something to put up so they look good - as they think... |
