Slowdown..

I'm playing Chrono Cross and when I enter a battle, the sound slowdowns, I mean, I tried every resolution to make sure it wasnt a graphical issue. How can I manage to get rid of those slowdowns??

EDIT: At the same time, I'd like to know if there's a way to display the framerate, thanks!

Hit Tab to show various runtime stats (including the framerate).

The slowdowns are reportedly normal under certain situations and versions of pSX. Have you tried playing from the original disc?

yeah I did, I wouldnt say it is worse or better but it seems different. I tried to hit the tab button and I also downloaded FRAPS, and this was a success, the framerate came down to 38 sometimes. However, I checked "enable frameskipping" or something like this, and it worked. I dont know if it will always work but it satisfies me for now hehe. And thanks for the help!
