Vsync setting doesn't work
Is it just me or does vsync setting actually work? Cuz it doesn't matter if I disable or enable it, still always getting 60 FPS in both full screen and windowed.

You have to also make sure that it's turned off in your graphics card settings before you turn it off in the emulator. More precisely, you want to set it to "application controlled."

Yea well I always keep vsync off in nvidia settings as I'm on a highend CRT so tearing doesn't become an issue for me even at very high FPS rates and I tried your suggestion on putting it to application-controlled which would have been the first app ever to require it to be on that setting but unfortunately it didn't change anything at all...
Perhaps it's a bug that depends on the hardware setup or emulator settings used. I'm using ForceWare 162.01 tho, it's been a while since I saw the old cpanel you have there but most often I use RivaTuner these days instead.

With pSX, IIRC on my previous system *which had a 85hz CRT* with vsync on it would have no tearing but it would with vsync off. Speed would be the same regardless.

Well I've seen posts saying it runs too fast on pSX too so I take it the setting works for at least some.

To my knowledge... why would it run at any other speed *but* 60 fps? The Playstation games run at a speed of 60 frames per second... this number wouldn't be affected by the monitor in any way, because no matter what, you still see 60 frames of game action per second. The size of the frames are completely static (unchanging), so no matter what settings the video card or monitor have, they will still show those 60 frames per second.
Of course, this is strictly in reference to NTSC. If I'm completely off here somehow, then the best way to set me straight would be to answer this. Do the games all seem to play at half/double speed, does the picture look broken, or does something else seem completely off?

Well you see I'm used to play RPGs with 75-85 FPS on ePSXe which I actually prefer rather than 60 FPS. Yes I want the game running above 60 FPS / 100%. 75 FPS for example would be 125% or 25% faster than normal and yes I know it causes music, videos and everything run faster than it's supposed to be but I prefer it that way. Any questions?
![]() Also another reason is that I wanted to see which emulator actually runs fastest / have less system requirements and it's a bit difficult to test that for pSX when all I get is a static 60 FPS rate when ePSXe for example runs 1000+ FPS (which can also be quite funny, try some driving game when FPS game is constantly 500+ FPS (8x+ faster than full speed) and you'll see). lol And why wouldn't Vsync be related to the monitor? Vsync is supposed to limit the FPS rate at the refresh rate setting for the monitor (that's how ePSXe does for example) and I don't have a LCD and actually use 100Hz for my CRT and since this emulator still report 60 FPS no matter what I guess the Vsync setting in the emulator isn't really Vsync related at all, it's only a 60 FPS limit hack. But why would it be there then if there's no difference in disabling or enabling it? Well when using search button I've seen people reporting about game started running way too fast when he switched to full screen so appearently it works at least for some though or the "Vsync" setting has been modified in a newer pSX version.
