Valkyrie Profile

Well, I'm getting a problem saving. I can save successfully on a previous memcard but the next time i open up the pSX 1.11, it seems like nothing was saved and that entire slot is empty. Also whenever i create + format a new card, pSX just doesnt create the file. Its really pissing me off because my save states also arent created and quick save doesnt work. I'd appreciate any input. Sorry if this has been posted before, i've searched but havent found a topic like this. BTW my bios file is scph1001.bin

psx emulator doesn't create memcards

to create memcards download psxeven

and create it using that emulator and save it in a folder called 'cards'

The memcard should be a .MCD file if created using psxeven.

Next start PSX emulator 1.11 and click

file-configuration- memcards tab

and just browse to where your .MCD file was created.

as for save states make sure you have a 'save' folder and click

file- configuration- path tab

where it says 'save state'

browse to where you created the 'save' folder

the next time you want to open a save state just browse to that folder.

Hmm... it shouldn't be freezing like that. Are you making sure to save to the memory card regularly and such? Also, sounds more like a scratched disc/crappy image problem than anything else, especially since the game works fine for just about everybody, as long as they follow the guidelines of saving regularly to the memory card (and avoiding the insignificant analog problem with the game)...

Well when I tried it on pSX using another persons save it freezes at the wallpaper voice collections screen thingy ( I was screenshotting them for a project I was doing). So I switch to EPSXE and was able to do that, so pSX clearly isnt perfect for it in my opinion. But it plays fine on my PS2 so I just use that if I want to play it.

And eh it only froze once on my actual playstation and it was pretty easy to tell it was a random bug rather than my used copy that has next to no scratches on it.

I know Tri-Ace anyway, only game they ever made that hasn't froze on me is Valkyrie Profile 2. Star Ocean 2 has that battle freezing bug, Star Ocean 1 freezes everywhere on ZSNES(though I've read thats an issue with the sound core), and Star Ocean 3 froze once also during one of its "menu lags".

I guess Psx is alright with it though. But eh it froze at that menu so who knows where else it could.

Edit: I just remembered there also being a noticible LAG whenever I attacked on pSX, sometimes I couldn't even see the menu in battle.

yes, i too also see a huge lag in valkyrie profile battles, there were times that the picture just froze but the game was still going on

EDIT: Ok, I've searched through the psX official forums, and it said to add -r to the command line. I did this and any battle lag that I've had before never came back. Try this, cheers.
