Yes, rerip the ISO using the CloneCD format rather than the Alcohol format. Unless you downloaded it (which is how it seems), and in that case, you won't get support for that here. First of all because of legal issues, but also because of problems with compatibility/quality of downloaded ISOs.

Indeed. The only thing I'd say about the issue is a rather general statement... instead of directly loading images, you can also mount them to a virtual drive and play them that way. That's what I usually do.
And of course, as hushypushy said, your best bet is to extract games to CloneCD's ccd/img/sub disc format. It's really the only format that should even be considered when extracting Playstation games. You can find a free version of Alcohol 52% right off their site, which can extract games to the CloneCD format. It works quite well... I have probably extracted about 50 PS1 games with it, and I have *never* had any problems with the resulting images (be sure to use a reading speed of 16x or lower for best results).
