Anyway what emulator your query was for? Because if it was for PCSX2, your thread is not in the right section. If you got questions or problems or anything else related with this emu, please post in the PCSX2 section.

Well, you can also use a keyboard, a joystick, or pretty much anything that inputs into your computer.

Answer 0 - It is in fact easier to play a game in an emulator than use a PC port of the same game. Unfortunately my two best (PS2) games, GTA3 and Tekken Tag, don't work. GTA3 PC is a crappy conversion IMO, and lacks decent controller support as does Vice City and San Bugdreas™.
Answer 1 - PSX to PC adapter + controller. Some (most?) Boom adapters (tested 3 Boom N64+PSX to USB adapters before getting Answer 2) are poorly designed though and don't work properly without re-soldering. Answer 2 - Logitech Dual Action USB controller (Dual Shock 1 work-alike).

Logitech Dual Action controller is horrible. Bad drivers, bad compatibility, and worse D-pad. I highly advise against even looking at that POS.

I agree. I actually own a Logitech Dual Action controller, and I stopped using it after about a day of testing it. The D-Pad is indeed intolerable, and the timing is horrible in games that really need it.

Damned I was about to buy one. They seems so cute...
![]() I think the best pad I ever tried was the Thrustmaster dual power 3. Two years of good services....but I want to replace it because the right stick is dying. The problem is Microsoft didn't have the good idea to make a wireless version of its pad for the PC....

I heard the upgrade for that, the Rumblepad 2, is actually good.
I'd recommend the Xbox360 controller, I love using mine so much...and apparently MS is going to come out with an addon to use the wireless controllers for PC.

) and i use a PSX-USB adapter from play.com (not sure if their stocked still) and a GAME unofficial ps2 pad (analog sticks are a bit too sensitive but that's about it and that's partly a problem with the adapter)

There shouldn't be anything wrong with Vice City, you might be using the "swap axis" setting somewhere. San Andreas however is the worst of the GTAs to get running with a controller.
I've had no problems with my Dual Action gamepad, apart from the aforementioned round style D-pad (randomly jumping/ducking in Tekken), but 99% of PSX-copy PC controllers seem to be made that way*. * I have seen one controller with a Sony style D-pad, but it wasn't an analog controller.
