ok. best speed settings with pSX

so, im not warried about the quality of the graphics, i just want my pSX to play games at a nice speed. what would be the best settings for normal speed? and what are the best bios. i have 2 diffrent playstations with diffrent bios. thanks.

ps. Off topic- whats up with the ps2 bios option in config?

Normal speed? Uh... No one complained about pSX speed before.
As for PS2 bios, you can boot it with -2 switch, but it is in very early stage.

ifrit05, have you actually tried pSX? many reports are in that it runs great on lowend systems. furthermore, there's not really much of anything to configure...

just set your resolution at 640x480 and go for it.

no. see, if i set it on frame skip, the video is kinda choppy and the music is great and smooth. but if i turn off frame skip, the video is smooth but the music is choppy. can i fix that?

and can you explain -2 for ps2 bios?

Does that happen in all games you are running?

To boot PS2 bios make a shortcut to psxfin.exe and add a -2 the the end of the target text: eg. "C:\pSX\psxfin.exe" -2.
You can also use pSX frontend and enable -2 switch.

Not much can be done here, you can mess with the sound options, try to toggle Sync sound.

As for PS2 bios: why do you want to boot it so badly, as i said it is in very early stage,
you will see practically nothing but a strange colored PS logo.

I think that i read somwhere that pSX Author have plans to do a PS2 emulation in pSX.

i turned off vsync in windowed mode and full screen and it works perfect.

ifrite05 i am having the same problem as you are and i followed the advice here and to my surprise it fixed it so i thought but in the begging movie in the fighting scene it had horizontal chop line going threw like the video was cut also in the battle phase when i summon GF's does it as well. did you have this problem as well? and if not can you aid me on it would be much appreciated

i tried the metal gear solid demo on pSX 1.10 and epsxe 1.6 petes plugins, and found epsxe to be quite a bit faster
