ePSXe and FF9 disk 3

OK i finally hit the end of my patience.

FF9 disk3 just refuses to load. It just sits there as if there is no copyright protection file. I know the disk is in mint condition and works fine in a ps. After reading through many pages of search threads, and trying different configs and tips from other users i still havent got it working.

First off....

AMD Turion 64 MT-30 1.59GHz
1 gig RAM
Radeon x700 onboard 128 dedicated, 15.4 widescreen
HL-DT-ST DVDRW GCA-4080N (no i dont know the manufacturer)
Realtek AC97 / Zalman 5.1ch External USB sound adaptor

Epsxe 1.5.2

Pete's OpenGL2 Driver version 2.7
1024x768 32bit depth
X: 1 Y: 2
Keep psx aspect, No render to text
TextFilt: 6 Hi-Res Text: 2
GFX Vram: autodetect
pixel shader on
FPS limit on: autodetect
OD 1, FE 3, FU1
Screenfilter on Flicker border 2 pixels
Shader effects on set to 4
Special game fixes on (odd even hack)

P.E.Op.S. Dsound audio driver version 1.9

P.E.Op.S CDR Driver version 1.4
Read mode BE-2
Thread read - fast. Additional 4mbyte ON
Use subchannel SBI/M3S info file: tried both SBI and M3S files

I tried making the sub/m3s file twice (thats both types twice). i have tried different emulators (epsxe 1.6 and 1.5.2, psx emulator, sssPSX). i have tried different plugins and with different settings

I tried using different programs to create an iso/bin (Reflect is an amazing little program, also tried VCD and Alcohol 120%) and tried running from CD

I have tried reading subchannel info from CD.

Anyone ever heard of this problem. Disk 1 and 2 ran perfectly, disk 3 really is acting as if the SBI or m3S file doesnt exist (meaning it just sits there loading and doing nothing)

EDIT i did have the plugin info nicely indented for easier reading but it seems this BBS wont show it

EDIT 2 I have also tried using the UK PPF file from this site, but it has an inbuilt trainer and it crashes when you press X for PAL version. (i am using australian PAL, but i have read in other posts one can use UK PAL PPF)

EDIT 3: Problem solved. <grumbles> i spent the better part of a day trying to find ways around this, an 'lo n behold, i used the option "convert clonecd sub file" option, since i used the clonecd option in alcohol 120% and the game is running again.... bah
