ePSXe 1.8. Please guide me from Unzip to Play... I need help.
Alright. I recently downloaded the New ePSXe 1.8 in hope of playing a few of my old favorite PS1 games (Roms) on my PC, but to no such avail. I am way to used to simple N46 and SNES roms that I have no idea what Im doing.
What I need is for someone to guide me from unzipping it, from the steps I need to play it including getting the games to run. I already have a PS1 and the Bios file (Which was a... Hard to find), but I just want to get downloaded games to work on my PC. So if anyone can help me, you'll make me very happy. ~PROXER~ |

An ISO is not supposed to be unzipped anyway, that has a meaning only for data discs. It can be played without being mounted, by pSX and ePSXe.
Take note that downloaded ISOs are very likely to give trouble in usage. If you find yourself in such a predicament, dont expect support here. And better go get those games from closest mall. I dont think 10 mins/10 bucks spent there is like gonna kiII anyone, plus you shop for the week. Keep that bandwidth for better uses

pSX is quite simple to use, there's nothing to it really. go buy a game, stick it in, and play. or make an ISO.

wow. This is the most paranoid group of people I've ever met.
You'll all go about "stealing" games to re-live the nostalga, but should somesome come up and ask for help because they dont know what they'er doing everybody imediatly shuns them because they say that the Bios and rom files arent a problem but rather they need help with the program! DAmn it people, you make it sound like getting a hold of a copy of Chocobo Racing is easy! I've checked everywhere around me and I can't find it, Which is why I want a PC copy! For somewhere that's supposed to be helpful, it's full of people afraid of old copyright laws. Forshame. ~PROXER~ |

hmmm...
how about this? or maybe this? hell, go type in "chocobo racing" to ebay and see what you find. but you know what, even if you want to play Suikoden II or Valkyrie Profile, games that go for over 100USD even if it's just the CD, it's still illegal. and how does NGEmu survive? by promoting the legal side of emulation. if we offered game or BIOS downloads, we'd be dead in no time--this is a pretty high profile site, not some backwoods warez site. but you don't care that it's illegal right? how about the big important part about how the warez on the internet are crap quality. you'd think that one of the most popular Playstation games, Final Fantasy VII, would get a decent rip floating around the internet. nope. there are a few fatal flaws. same with a bunch of other games. and it's pretty frustrating trying to troubleshoot what's going on with people's games (or using their memory card to pass certain parts, or whatever) and you find out that it's just them being a cheapass, and their downloaded game was causing the problems. do you have any idea how long copyright runs? 10 years is nothing. "old", right. hell, Nintendo is still selling their crap from the 80s, i wonder when Sony will wise up and start doing the same with PSX games from the 90s. and even disregarding ALL OF THAT....let me ask you one question. how do you eat your meals? does your mom feed them to you with a spoon? because that's exactly how you want us to give you emulation help. pSX barely requires any setup at all. you didn't even say you were having a problem--you pretty much said "ok i downloaded this crap and i want someone to hold my hand until it works." alright... hey, at least come up with an error, say "i tried this and it doesn't work" or "i get this error" or something. well, judging by how hard you make it seem to get a BIOS, maybe you really do need your hand held. even if you're using a more difficult emulator like ePSXe where you have to pick plugins and configure stuff, there are guides like this one or this one that exist as stickies at the tops of those forums. i left this thread open with the hope that you might actually come up with a real problem. but, i guess not, you just had to get snotty with us. i especially like this quote: Quote:
your type shows up every once in a while--the "know it all (but really has no clue)". and when you get proved wrong, you just throw a hissy fit. oh well.
