when i try to run the psx 1.7 emulator i get a message that says:Failed to initialize D3D device.Could somebody please help?if i posted this in the wrong section could somebody please move it

No, he needs d3dx9_26.dll at least, and HERE

I put that dll in my pSX folder and emulator works then, you can try that.
What video card do you have anyway?

Maybe you have to download the latest DirectX from the microsoft site. I had this same problem (even though I had d3dx9_26.dll) until I downloaded the new version. Try that out and see if that works.

1. Right click "my computer," then click "properties"
2. click the "hardware" tab, then the "device manager" button 3. When the device manager comes up, you click the "+" sign beside display adapters, whatever is there is what you have. If your "my computer" icons are all shortcuts and you can't get to any of these options by right clicking it and then clicking "properties", you'll have to double click the "my computer" icon first and right click any white\blank space in the "my computer" window that it brings up, and then click "properties" I think there may be another way, but I've forgotten. . .
