Spyro 2 Audio Problems

When trying to play Spyro 2 on pSX (ver. 1.13), during cut scenes and whenever a character talks, the audio gets cut off, or gets really choppy. Does anyone know of any way to stop this. I read that when trying to play this game on the PS3, you need to change the disk read speed, is there any way to do this?

If it's any help, I am playing the actual disk, and it works perfectly fine on my PS2. Thanks in advance.
