psX - missing graphics issue FF8

Hi,
I'm on my PC using psX (because epsxe isn't working), I was just wondering if anyone knows how to remedy the problem of health status bars and commands just not showing up on the battle screen. there aren't any plugins in psX so I'm not sure what to do about it.

Disable it.
