Joystick fade

I just got a Windows xbox 360 controller (vista 64bit), everything works fine on pSX (though on epsxe the left analog stick doesnt seem to register for some reason). Im trying to play mgs, where at some points i need to walk, which you do by tilting the joystick very slightly.

problem is the game doesnt register it, it just registers it as if im going at 100%.

is this a plugin problem/emu problem or something in calibrating the controller??

i appreciate any help

Hum...Have you installed the XBCD drivers(I'm not sure they exist for X64 os and moreover vista but gonna make a search)? Also to be sure, can you post an image of your gamepad config, please?

xbcd is for wired controls only, and since he has doubly ****ed himself by using vista x64 hes likely going to have troubles even with the wired control. However if you go to ngohq you can tell msft to **** itself and install a Driver signing crack that'll remove that limitation, even though the driver is now test signed, you still need to reboot vista in test mode otherwise..

I know. As he didn't precised anything about the pad, I supposed it was wired. Now for drivers for X64....

sorry, i didn't explain it like i should have.

The microsoft drivers, are the biggest epitomy of **** that have ever existed, when it comes to legacy gaming. They break direct input, a standard created by microsoft themselves, which also happens to STILL be a better api then Xinput.

The microsoft drivers, therefore, have problems with a range of Dinput only apps and games, including various emulators, which is where the Xbcd project comes in to replace the msft driversm and provide full dinput compatibility, where msft has been too lazy to implement it.

this comes at the cost of Xinput not working, but coded right these games work with direct input anyway.

did you install the driver in device manager?... err nvm, you most likely did.

this seems to be related to SP1 x32 having driver signing as well now, running ngohq's driver signing crack should fix it.

when the software is installed and vista is in test mode, go into device manager, and find the controller, then do a manual update, pointing it to C:\windows\inf
