CEP on linux?

Sorry if this is a noob question but im still learning this whole emulation thing. Is there a way to use CEP or PEC in linux? without going through wine. because I've tried to install pSX and ePSXe in wine and can get neither to work.. and i'd prefer to use pSX in linux anyways but haven't found any way to get CEP to work yet. I've read all sorts of FAQ's and "how-to's" but there aren't really any straight up answers that i've come across..

and i'm using ubuntu 64 bit Hardy

any help would be extremely appreciated as i've been messing with this stuff for a few days now and just this morning gave in to posting the issue

if someone DOES happen to reply today i'm not sure how often i'll be able to check this today because i'll be with my fiance.. but yeah ill check as soon as i can
