we dont support piracy, buy the game because the people who make these copies you find never know what they are doing. and what does that mean for you? it means chances are, your image is not going to work and using a bad rip is about as productive as a dog chasing its tail.
edit- wait a minute you are the same person i was helping in the epsxe section, are you saying you have been using a downloaded copy of the game this whole time? jesus tapdancing mother of christ no wonder your game isnt working. let me make this as simple as possible: you are wasting your time because you have just made it very obvious its not an issue related to the emulator, so it is not going to matter what you try it on at this point. buy the game man and use your copy.

that doesnt mean you will be able to play through the entire game without running into trouble. there are tons of people ive seen on this forum who play through a decent amount of their pirated copies (and im not limiting this to LoD either so keep that in mind), but end up being screwed over later on. your image is probably missing certain data types due to the format it was made in, which would mean you do not have a complete image of the disk. somewhere along the line the image is going to backfire on you. if you think im bs'ing you play through the entire game with your downloaded image. im warning you now: you are going to develop a hatred for reality when it hits you.

Amazon.com: The Legend of Dragoon: Video Games
Legend of Dragoon is one of the easiest PS1 games to find. I highly suggest you buy that and rip it yourself, otherwise your going to get hit with a ton of bricks when that pirated copy quits working. |

Indeed; that's the dumbest thing of all about downloading Playstation games - most of them are so easy and cheap to get now. A lot cheaper than when they first came out!
![]() If you don't have a local games shop that sells what you want, try ebay and Amazon (as Mike,Reiner suggests). Amazon has a lot of independent sellers who sell games - many new and shrinkwrapped! |

There is no reason these games should be that expensive as the Playstation is over a decade old. Games can't really be considered a collectors item either seeing as they depreciate in value due to use and other things. Now unless it is an original copy that is still shrink wrapped and not the Greatest Hit's re-release then I can probably understand the price being that high. But when retailers, e-tailers, and sellers are selling the Greatest Hit's re-release of a game or a used copy of an old game for insane prices of $25 - $50/$75/$100 I do not agree with that or the price. Luckily I still had some original PSX games of mine to play via emulation which weren't damaged or destroyed so I wasn't totally SOL. I just got to find the games that got damaged or destroyed at a decent price and not insane outrageous prices. ![]() I don't know if sellers on ebay inflate the prices on PSX game like Amazon and some retailers do though.

@Xtreme2damax: I think sellers inflate the prices all they can; however, most Playstation games can still be found pretty cheap. A classic example of inflated prices would be Final Fantasy VII; less than a couple of years ago, you could buy it new for no money - I did. You can still buy used but good copies fairly cheap, but new ones are going for silly money - as was mentioned in this forum recently. |

Ya I don't think Sony ever released their playstation lineup as Direct2Drive as they never supported emulation to begin with.

The only way you can get Playstation games legally is to buy the actual game. Makes sense, too - the only way you can be sure of getting a reliable image is to rip it yourself. Because of their non-standard structure, Playstation games need careful ripping - why would anyone think some bozo posting illegal games is going to care? And as for paying to download illegal (and probably badly ripped) images - that's crazy!

ff7 and xenogears are the only two PS1 games i've ever seen that cost $50 or more, and if you check other places, or stores for that matter, it's about the same. Gray well, a video game pawn shop here, has a greatest hits copy of FF7, used, for $80. Thats even more than amazon's price.
FF8, 9, chrono cross, the 3 crash bandicoot games, metal gear solid, and a handful of others can each be bought for $20 or less. Unless your looking for FF7, FFTactics, Xenogears, Lunar2, or something else that obscure, PS1 games are pretty cheap. And by the way, Amazon.com: Breakout: Video Games That game is just plain awesome. Simple but fun. ePSXe plays it perfectly as well. Last edited by Mike.Reiner; March 11th, 2008 at 22:24. |

Why bother with ePSXe, Mike? pSX works so much better and is so much less hassle.
![]() And about prices: that's one of the reasons it's so dumb to download games - you can buy them so cheap, mostly. And as for paying a site to download illegally - that's real masochism! |
