saved gamed question

I have a problem when I use a game save that is mcr and when I use it in the memory configuration in psx ff9 recognizes it but when it checks the memory card there is no ff9 data and it worked in epsxe and not in psx and reading around it should be fine to use in psx. am I doing something wrong?
