Ogre Tactics does not have a functional load feature in pSX, so don't bother worrying about that one. As for Suikoden I and II... are you making sure that the folder containing your memory cards isn't read only? And what happens when you try to load? What OS are you using? Also, what BIOS are you using and what method are you using to create the memory cards?

What operating system are you using, Vahious? Some of the Windows ones, most noticeably XP and Vista, can be very stroppy about read/write permissions. Check that your pSX folder remains set to read & write after you've changed it.
Yes, you appear to have the correct idea for creating memory cards: start pSX, open the Configuration, go to the Memory cards tab, Eject any card that's already in the slot where you want to create a card and click the browse (...) button. The type the name of the card you want to create in the box, click OK and OK. It doesn't matter what extension you use - a lot of people use the .mcr extension to facilitate portability between pSX and ePSXe, although both emulators will read cards with any extension as long as they're in the correct format - it's just that pSX will open them directly; ePSXe is more fiddly. Most games will format a new card automatically on first use, but a few don't, so after creating a card, let pSX run to the BIOS page (where it winds up if you don't have a game loaded) and use your controller to enter the memory card editor - you'll need your controller set to Normal Type for this. This will format the card; close the editor and you're good to go. As far as Ogre Tactics is concerned, apparently loading from a save is even broken on the Playstation console - it's appallingly bad coding in the game and possibly not fixable without rewriting it. |

That's a perfectly decent system, Vahious - should have no problems with pSX on that, except I have little love for Windbloats... have you got memory card creation cracked, then?
Since I always create sets of cards for each game, I usually make a folder for each game - makes them easier to find. But since, unlike the Playstation ones, they're free, why not? If you use Ultima's pSX Frontend, you can preset, amongst a wealth of other settings, what memory cards you want to load, so having a lot of them is no problem.
