psX error: can't even play...

Ok well actaully let me explain whats going on. Im trying to play brigadine... I got psx, and now do i mount image,... when i mount image the game goes to teh start menu of the game, but keeps looping and looping and looping and i cna never play. it loops from the into to the start menu... I've downladoed the game from 2 differtn sources so...

Chauboy, downloading Playstation games is illegal, and you won't receive help for illegally obtained games on any reputable forum.

Downloading games is also dumb. You've just discovered one reason why: they're often not properly ripped and they don't work. The only way to be sure you have a decent, workable image is to rip it yourself and do it properly. Most Playstation games can be bought cheaply and easily on ebay or Amazon.

anyways i got it to work... but how do u save

To save in pSX, create a memory card in the configuration menu, and then hit OK, restart the emulator, and format the card in the BIOS. If you need to save before restarting, just use a save state before making the memory card, then load it up and save your game after you make a memory card.

well so i think i have a save, but in brigidane the load up screen loops so fast i cant get to continue...

and the down arrow key is x on the load screen....

So any ideas?

i tried load state but apparently... the file isnt the same type... and i didnt format the card, but in the bridgaine game it said it formatted it for me, and the saves were successful... i saved frmo inside the game and i didn't save state... so idk..

are the save files supposed to be .bin?

like when i try to save again i see the saved file, bbut i cant load it because on start up the screen disappears and i dont know how to scroll down ... it says press x to cintue, but every button i press is "x", no other button works.

anyways i did some research and i found this thread Brigandine problem so im wondering if this ermulator doesnt work for this game what emulator will?

The brigandine errors seem to be with the rom itself, no matter what emulator i use it is the same errors, does anyone know where to purchase this game, becuase on amazon people are selling the game for ridiculous prices of a couple hundreds of dollars.

try ebay. even if its going for a high price i suggest you buy it because i doubt you will have much luck, if any, with a downloaded copy. some people on ebay will skip the whole bidding aspect and are actually nice enough to negotiate the price of what they sell with you if you can sweet-talk them into it.

jonc2006 is quite right, Chauboy. If you're going to negotiate with sellers on ebay, though, be careful: strictly speaking, this is against the rules - although people do it, obviously.

You could also try Amazon - they also act as a frontend for numerous small dealers, with whom you may also be able to negotiate - again, carefully.

FWIW, the NTSC-US version of this game is in the pSX Compatibility Lists as working, except that you have to select your option on the starting screen quickly.

theres many errors, that is one, i couldnt find a way to load saved games, and you can only choose 1 of 5 characters. (severely limiting the replay value)

on the menu sceren you have to choose so quickly that i think it chooses your character for you, beucase you have to dobuel hit the button.
