i wonder why FMV sequences are so difficult to emulate on pcsx2. on psx emulators, fmv sequences were done fairly well.??? On ff12, the game looks great on gdsx1.7, but fmv sequences are choppy and laggy.

but try FFX or Kingdom Hearts, the FMV's are fine there. His Avatar is Citan Uzuki from Xenogears

Nice plugin, I use it more than ZEroGS personally, but there are one little thing that bothers me (and probably other users)... the default size of the window, it's so small I have to resize it manually, which for some reason creates a delay in sound after it's done (applies to all SPU2 plugins I've tried). It would be nice to be able to override the size, or at least give us some standard resolution choices. Both for the lazy guys and those who have GPU/SPU sync issues ^^
That's just a suggestion though... >> slow videos are caused by pcsx2, not GSdx. but try FFX or Kingdom Hearts, the FMV's are fine there. Videos are much better using this plugin indeed, thanks to better interlacing features. Too bad FMVs are very slow in FF games as you said (except for FFX)... probably has to do with their high resolution compared to most other games (unless the native resolution shown in the top of the window isn't updated realtime, they seem to be higher res)

Some Grandia III FMV's are slow; it's the ones that seem to mix pre-rendered CGI with rendered models. It's strange though since in-game runs fullspeed, but the FMV/in-game hybrids bring FPS down to ~30 even in native resolutions without texture filtering.
This leads me to believe it's a PCSX2 issue, but I think it's my GFX card bottlenecking, but I have a 8800GTS. |

FMV/realtime mixes are usually kinda problematic in early stages of emulation... so most likely it is a PCSX2 issue, not a plugin one (try in ZeroGS, if you get the same result, you get your answer). Or maybe your CPU is fast enough to run FMV and in-game seperatly, but not enough to do both at once.

sometimes it's PCSX2 sending garbage data to GSdx. sometimes it's Direct X's fault, because directX9 and directX10 lack some of the functions necessary to properly emulate the PS2. and sometimes it's GSdx's fault, it might be doing something incorrectly with the data its given. the fact is, that the developers of PCSX2 and GSdx are doing all this hardwork for free and asking why stuff dosn't work is pretty rude; especially if you know anything about programming/emulation. just be grateful that it even runs games at all

"looks diffrent than in hardware rendering, why?"
They way they're processed is different, so sometimes, the result is different too. BTW, software is much slower than hardware "also hair looks sometimes strange. it is problem with my drivers?" Emulation isnt perfect yet, especially when it has to do with transparency. Anyways sometimes even on the real PS2 they looked strange
