In case anyone want to learn the image quality of older version, I attach pcsx 0.8 and gsdx 0.8. The gsdx plugin has window resolution changed to 2048x1536. If no picture showed up, overwrite it with 640 (x480) version. Compression is 7zip

Tried posting about this in the main forum but got no response, so I'm hoping I'll have better luck here ...

The first few levels of Shadow of Rome run absolutely perfectly on GSdx. But then I run into a level where it's all white except for the characters. And the level after that is ALL white except for the HUD. I can hear myself walking around, but can't see anything.

The weird thing about this is the all white level seems to share the same environment/graphics as a previous level which works perfectly. I can't figure it out.

I tried it with another graphic plug in and I could see the environment in the all white level but there were other visual bugs and it was so slow as to be unplayable ...

I REALLY want to play this game! It's marked as green in the compatability list so I'm assuming someone managed to play it all the way through which means they didn't get the all white level ... I don't understand it. Could my game or saves be corrupted? But if they were, why wouldn't they look that way with the other gs plug in?

If any of you have ANY suggestions or input for me I would greatly apprecate it!

EDIT: When I run gsdx in SOFTWARE mode the level appears perfectly--I can see everything. But it runs so slow as to be unplayable.

john, theres not much you can do.
if it works with zeroGS, then we know its not a pcsx2 problem, but rather a gsdx problem.
and since it works correctly in software mode, we know its a problem with gsdx's directX rendering.

all you can really do now is wait till gabest comes back, and make a post about it (including a .gs dump) to see if he will look into it.

you can also try getting past the level with zeroGS, and then switching back to gsdx to see if its gone.

(and i know i already told you to try switching on/off log Z, but you can also try running with the native checkbox to see if its a resolution problem., also try switching on/off the alpha correction checkbox, and make sure nloop hack is set to grey checkbox (not black))

Perhaps this was asked elsewhere but I really couldn't find it but does anyone else have problems running GSDX in fullscreen when in DirectX 10 mode? I noticed in DX9, the emulator will automatically go into fullscreen (and everything works just fine) but for DX10, it remains in a window. I can manually go to fullscreen using ALT+Enter but the graphics will not display properly (if at all) forcing me to revert back into windowed mode. As you can see by my specs below, my video card definately supports directx 10 and it certainly runs fine in windowed mode (but of course I'm after GSDX with DX10 in fullscreen)

This problem of course applies to all games.

Thanks in advance.

Hello,
I've tried looking around to see if anybody have had this problem already, but didn't seem to find anything, so I guess I'll try my luck here
I've downloaded all GSdx and the put it in the plugin folder and also put the additional files in the normal folder.
The plugin itself appears, however, whenever I try to configure it, it makes pcsx2t.exe crashes (also does the same to every other 'version' of it).
I'm also pretty sure my current graphic card supports Pixel Shader 2.0 (RADEON 9600), though it's probably not related to that.
So I've been wondering if anybody knew about how to resolve this problem?
Thanks in advance

Your CPU probably does not support SSE2,in which case you should forget about running PCSX2 decently.

You're right. I just checked my CPU infos with Sandra and it does not support it unfortunatly. That might explain why it would crash everytime.
ZeroGS does work however.

Well, I checked on Wikipedia and it said starting RADEON 9200 it would support PS2.0, but then again my CPU doesn't support SSE2 (I think it's just a little bit too old unfortunatly).
The emulator works fine (apart for unrelated stuffs) if I use the other plugin and it's not as hell slow as you'd think it would be (even though last time I tested a game I had many programs in background including mmorpg and such).

The Radeon 9200 (RV280) only supports PS1.4. Only the Radeon 9500 (R300) and up support PS2.0.

anyway your system is to weak to play with pcsx2. I had a sempron 3100+ with a radeon 9800 pro. and I couldn't really play. You have to buy a new config or play with your ps2.

I had the same problem as you with running my HD2900xt's in crossfire with fullscreen in DX10. The solution I found was to disable crossfire. I believe crossfire does not improve performance in using PCSX2 anyway, so I don't think disabling crossfire will make anything run slower. I am also interested in what your performance is in DX10 as opposed to DX9, as unlike what many others have been saying DX10 runs slower for me in all situations I have tried. I have looked around and anyone who posted about performance in DX10 vs DX9 seems to have a GeForce card and claims to have better performance in DX10.

YO!
I have vista x64 now, and when configuring the plugin for d3d10 hardware, the emulator does not run. I get that vista popup window telling the program shut down. ?

edit:
stupid me. i didn't include those dx10 files provided in the first page
