Shadow of rome - 11 fps. No glitches in the beginning. ZeroGS - 17 fps, perfect speed with VU skip
(PCSX2 SVN 275 - VU skip im normal in this version). Ah, if only GSdx would have FS

I posted a while back about ffxii,
this post - GSdx it showed the water and other things in ffxii that had two textures splicing together, just wanted to say that DX10 fixes them, they are just in dx9 mode thank you Gabest

I was wondering if there is a difference in performance between sse2 and non-sse. Also I was wanted to know why you went from sse2 to ssse3. Lastly are there any plans for a sse3 release? Thx for the great video plug-in and I look forward to future release

This plugin is so great, the graphic are beautiful.
I have a few question, cos i can't find the explanation or the guide about this great plugin. I'm using GSdx 0.1.7 SSSE3. 1. Is there a keyboard shorcut to changes from windowed to d3d internal res that u set in config and viceversa? Cos when i press the common shorcut alt+enter it don't work. If i set the resolution to 1024x768 60hz in resolution config it automaticaly go fullscreen when loading the game. I have a little problem to access the pcsx menu to savestate or change configuration, becos if i press Esc button when in fullscreen then the screen went black and only a taskbar in visible. So I have to right click the emu in taskbar to close it and then reload the emu, kind of annoying. It seems u're kind of stuck when u go fullscreen and hard to get out. 2. Is there a way or keyboard shorcut to display fps when in fullscreen mode? 3. What is the difference between resolution and d3d internal res? 4. What is the function of Logarithmic Z and Alpha Correction (FBA) ? Thanks. |

@ryosaeba
(I don't really know the inner workings of the plugin, but i believe i got it right) 1. I don't think there is any for now. As for the "escaping from fullscreen", the only fix i know requires to have dual-screen and Ultramon: once you press escape, right click the pcx2 interface button on the taskbar then "move to other monitor". 2. Use FRAPS. 3. Internal resolution and main resolution are differents in GSDx: Internal means the amount of pixels to be rendered (a 1024x1024 internal res means a little more than 1 millions pixels frame), while the normal resolution is the size of the "area" to be displayed. To be more precise, if you set an internal res of 1024x1024 and a normal res of 1024x768, the plugin will first render the frames in 1024x1024, then downscales them to 1024x768 before displaying them. Same goes with windowed, it will first render in the internal resolution, then scale it to whatever the size of the window is. 4.I think Log Z is a function about fixing Z rendering (in a 3d space, an object has 3 coordinates x,y,z, respectively horizontal, vertical and depth positions. When you see some parts of an object in front of another one while it is supposed to be behind, it's because their z coordinates are messed up), No real idea about FBA, although it may have something to do with transparency (A 32-bits color is coded with 4 bytes - 1 byte = 8 bits - RGBA, each letter standing for Red, Green, Blue and Alpha, the last being the usual name for the transparency level) Sorry, lots of text and a bit of technical lingo, hope it wasn't too complicated. And if i'm wrong about anything, someone say it, m'kay? |

Wow, what a great explanation. Thank you very much. About question no.1, so how do u quit the emu normally when using full screen? Are using ALT + F4 is the only way or there is another way? Thanks. |

I close the emulator by pressing ESC first and then ALT+F4.
when it crashed then sometimes works "n" for the "not send" button ^^

that's the way I do it, since sometimes alt+f4 changes the frame limit mode so esc then alt+f4 closes perfectly

the "jump" from sse2 to ssse3 was because gabest found a instruction in ssse3 that could help speed in some parts of the emulation process, while sse3 has not many things to offer (in fact not many things actually make use of sse3 or ssse3, seems like sse4 is he next actual improvement over sse2)

Wow, I didn't know what happened but I'mshocked. Just tested Shadow of Rome with GSdx 744 (512х512, D3D9 + PS 3.0, no filtering, log z and fba are enabled) + PCSX2 276. I got ~40 fps!!!! I even can't believe it! But CPU loading indicates as 99% so it's still limited by GSdx
![]() Going to test it with PCSX2 277

Hi there,
I don't know if i missed something, but here's the issue: I can't install GSdx 0.1.7? Copied it to the plugins directory, and the D3DX10 v36 to the pcsx2 root. Everything correct? It just doesn't appear on the Graphics configuration list. I only get the old GSdx9. Tried with pcsx2 0.9.4 and 0.9.5 beta. I would like to try the dx10 version, since i'm running Vista 64bit, Intel Q6600 @3.0ghz and GF 8800GT. I hope it's just something simple i haven't figure out, because this really makes me feel a bit noob
