Yes, for more speed, PCSX2 need code optimizations
Gsdx, can now optimize the visualization.

Yap, at least in most cases. i tested games with 16x16 internal resolution and didn't get any fps boost AT ALL (!) in compare with native! But there is still some titles that need some work. For example Shadowof the colossus produces extremely low framerate and CPU load is 99%. As far as I remember, Gabest already has it. Gabest, if I'm wrong - I can upload a dump here.

It's not quiet right. The fps will not get bigger for well optimized games like FFX, but some games use instructions that are not supported by GSdx or are optimized bad. So there are a lot of games that run 2fps and with more instructions implemented, the faster it gets For example Soul Calibur 3 in battle with DX9 - 2fps, but with new instuction that are in DX10 - 25fps!!!! So with GSdx - SC3 is playable (some SPS are still present - PCSX2 bug)

To be more clear, I'm getting a constant flickering problem using GSDX, but ZeroGS works fine. Anyone have any possible solutions?

Change VU-skip to normal/limit/skip <config->cpu or simply F4 while ingame>. GSDX doesn't support new <and old> vu-skipping modes that PCSX2 uses.

Note: hmm it seems that vu-skipping actually works with GSDX - when u change interlacing mode with F5 while ingame the screen should appear <at least bff modes work>:P

Katamari Damacy bugs (USA ver, pcsx2 9.5 239, gsdx 1.7 SSE2, Vista x86, dx9 fullscreen, Pixel Shader 3, native render and all checkboxes enabled minus TV Out (disabled) and nloop hack (greyed)):

- 2d objects are not positioned right, theres a black part near their border. Evident right at the bootup save select screen, most noticable (imo) in the objects menu (enter the tree on the home planet). Seems to be unaffected by render target size, worked in earlier versions.
- in the "planet" menu, any presents the Prince is wearing will lose their textures and turn yellow if you go near any of the menu objects.
- priority/z problem: when you complete a level, you can't see the katamari in the hands of the King of All Cosmos. Highlight texts are also missing under the "view constellations" menu. Also worked in earlier versions.

The midlde error is a pcsx2 error, it doesn't happen with svn version 269.

I Found out That any Fight including "Kakashi" or "Lee" Hangs out, Closing Pcsx2.
ZeroGS Failed to Enter Battle at ALL For me, Although, Didn't mess around with the Options (You Know, They are ALOT), & It was Running at 7 fps (Compared to Gsdx 17~22 )

Guys, is it a Pcsx2 Problem ???

Cool Yeah I get like 40 frames with 7950 GX2

+ 2 gb of mem standard with vista and with my dual vid cards working together and a dual core processor clocked at 2.2ghz yeah it's kinda low but i still get 30-40 fps with DBZ: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 so if I want full ps2 emu I have to shell out more money to make it than I hope he gets it to do perfect emu with my specs Hope to The Hope

only an idea:
maybe gabest can move the software render processing into an other thread, the third or fourth core for 3 or quadcore processors.
this would speed up the software render when it use its own core.
maybe in the future when he got a quadcore cpu

I think the pcsx2 team was quite adamant in saying: no quad core support for the future.
And I don't really think a plugin can "go on other cores" on its own. Multithreading opens up many problems on is own anyway....

And I think it was said many times already...

@Krakatos
Everything you wrote is more or less wrong....
gsdx gets any kind of interface to communicate with pcsx. Surely it can use as much threads as it wants.
Multi threading donґt leads to any problems if you implement it a right way and know what to do (you are right that there are many things you have to pay attention to). Multi threading eats much developing time (much more in our first projects, after that most work is of the same kind) but itґs the most important tool for the next years. 8,16,32.... cores.

I Think it's either that he is
1- Having a Much Earned Rest !
2- Optimizing the Code for Faster Running (As he said last Time)

Anyway, The Two Versions per day thing isn't the Normal way of Development.
When He is ready, We will Know
