Fix it please!!!!

These threads are getting ridiculous...mods should delete some posts, or make a sticky concerning the rough, hard facts about DX10.

Also: since updating to svn 239, I've seen _much_ better speeds with both GSdx10 and GSdx9 in FFX and Resident Evil 4. RE4 shot to ~90% speed with GSdx10...up from somewhere around 70%. Same type of increases for FFX

However, I noticed something wierd yesterday. Emulation speeds are high when the GS plugin res is set at 512x512, then drop a little at 1024x1024, and then speeds keep increasing as I move it up to 4096x4096. Shouldn't the opposite be true? It confuses me, but it's ok, since it plays great the higher you set it

when playing Dragon Quest VIII it's all been going fine up until I got to the FMV at statue at the end of the Tower of Alexandra dungeon.

The screen was totally brown, with just occasional grey blurs during the FMV

settings.

0.94 tlb
GSDX10 0.1.1
sound null
linuz iso 0.7

shuffle2: In ffxii I get lower fps in native than at 1024x1024. I think it's because when drawings are reused I have to trim the textures to the resolution it was rendered at (1024x1024 => 640x448 for example), this step is not always necessary when the whole surface is filled, though I cannot always guess the height and there is still a copy needed.

Gabest,

can you post change logs between versions?; it can help everyone do a better testing of
GSdx10 - GSdx9.

Thanks,
Maxx77.

Mainly crash and lockup fixes in this release. But also improved texture unswizzling a bit, and groupped more triangle drawings to make less calls to directx. This latter is usally the bottleneck now in most games. This is the number after the slash and before the cpu usage, over 1000-2000 the fps begins to drop a lot.

Firstly, thank you, gabest. Great work!

Sorry to ask stupid question. What is the additional d3dx10_36.dll used for? I simply can't figure it out.
Also, I've seen people posting their test results in large-scale jpegs. But mine can only run in a fixed-size window of 512x448. Is this normal, or I simply missed something to tune? Thanks.

The dll is needed for gsdx10 to run, put it next to pcsx2.exe.

You can set higher resolution at the settings of the gs plugin, or just try to resize the window, it already renders at 1024x1024 by default.

RockmanForte <--- your question is in the wrong forum topic. this is for DX10 not DX9 version of the GS plugin.

Looks like DQ8 only works with non-VM version of pcsx2 v239 (it locks up at the very first conversation, 'yo, guv', in the vm version). It runs at 15 fps for me (faster in battle menu, 25 fps or so but then drops back to 15 fps when battle animation begins).

MGS 3, on the other hand, locks up after the intro cinematics.

SOTC runs like 2-5 fps for me. But it doesn't seem to crash.

R-Type Final clocks in at around 8-11 fps.

Odin Sphere is near perfect. It runs 25 - 40 fps.

Superman Returns runs at 9 fps with a ton of graphical errors. It also locks up pcsx2 after you start the game.

This is on a c2d desktop cpu (E6600/2.4 ghz) in a notebook configuration (8600M GT 512 MB GDDR2 gfx card) running windows vista 32-bit using GSdx10 0.1.2.
