I actually prefer keyboard as I'm a keyboard freak and I'm better with playing with a keyboard these days than using pads even. Also I think using keyboard is a part of emulation, using real pads only makes it look more like the real thing.

I was looking for a plugin that would accept 360 controllers...

is this compatible for it?

No it accepts only 5 controllers...
No, I'm joking, normally SDL should support xbox 360 coontrollers if they are recognized as normal controllers, I don't have any xbox controller so I can't test.

Not much is coming of the "Linux Input Plugin" thread, so I guess I'll try a direct request. Like a few other people here, I'd really really love a Linux version of this plugin. I agree that playing with a keyboard is masochism, but what's worse is that it's entirely impossible on Linux with games that require analog control--No plugins yet exist for Linux that support gamepads or any sort of analog control. This is the one thing keeping me from being able to play Monster Hunter perfectly on PCSX2.

I'm asking you because it seems that MegaPad would be the easiest input plugin to port--it uses SDL at its core, right? That's what handles the joypads directly? I don't know too terribly much about this, but couldn't you still just rely on SDL to do the heavy lifting for the gamepad? There's a Linux version of SDL, so.. wouldn't the rest of the code for the Linux version as opposed to the Windows version of the plugin be pretty much the same? If it's really this simple (not that I'd know one way or the other without researching this more), you'd make many people extremely happy by making this happen! I know you haven't used Linux, but if it's required, I'm sure there are a few people here who would be ready and able to answer your questions and do the testing for it. I realize I may just be spewing nonsense, but I'd love to see such an easy fix to this issue. Whether you look into this or not, thanks for your time!

I understand you can cheat a little and use the analog sticks as pressure sensitive buttons, but do you think you program the actual buttons to be pressure sensitive ? Since games like metal gear solid 3 subsistence will need it and can't afford to spare either analog stick. Both the xbox1 and ps2 controllers I am using have pressure sensitive buttons. Thanks a bunch!
Perhaps this a directx driver issue? So modifying a plugin wouldn't matter anyhooo.....

Booma : the next version of megapad, 1.3.0, will allow you to bind anything to analogs, including mouse. I don't know how to program the gui on Linux, I don't have linux and the gui was very hard to program.

PCXL-Fan : I think pressure-sensitive buttons on a PC gamepad would be recognized as axes by the driver.

Alright, I see... I'll try to do that myself, then, if that's alright. I probably won't even get a chance to start for several weeks, though, so apologies to other eager Linux users out there...

Booma, I understand what you want to say, the only plugins available under Linux are ZeroPad and PadWinKeyb.
PadWinKeyb forces you to use the mouse for analogs (double-click for l3 and r3), and ZeroPad is a copy of PadWinKeyb.
When I install Linux, I will try to release a Linux version of this plugin, as SDL exists for Linux too.

Free suggestion: Ubuntu (many use it)

Found a bug, now the shortcut keys doesn't work so I can't load and save states etc. using the F keys.

EDIT: Well seems like you have to select another pad plugin for controller 2 and then it works again but using MegaPad on both controller 1 and controller 2 which I'd normally do (use same for both, it disables the shortcut keys).

focus problem I think.
What GS plugin do you use ? Maybe it's because ZeroGS.

This bug is fixed, download version 1.3.0. The GUI does not allow you to bind the F keys to anything,
and the F keys are treated as hotkeys.
The F keys are from F1 to F12, if you have more F keys, you can use from F13 to F24.

Mouse support works better than PadWinKeyb's, I tested the 2 plugins with Syberia, with PadWinKeyb the character disobeys a lot and is hard to control, with MegaPad I can get the character anywhere.

I`ve got a problem with the plugin - every time I try to configure the buttons (input the key), the emulator crashes. Anyone knows what could be the reason?

On what step does the emu crash ? Maybe your root or inis folder is read-only and the plugin fails creating the config file ?

I have no idea what`s wrong ;/. After i push a key to sign it to a button, the emulator freezes for few seconds, then crashes. I`ve checked the files, none of them has the read-only option checked.
