@zerofrog

most people use geforce fx/radeon 9 series graphic cards. both of these cards only use shaders v2.0.
ZeroGs only supports shaders v3.0. also, I use radeon 9550 and I can't use ZeroGs properly.
some of old geforce ti cards are powerful enough to use shaders. they are old but they are not outdated.
many of them can outperform newer generations if we disable Anisotropic.
would you mind making another version of ZeroGs which support shaders2.0/shaders1.x ?
it will boost speed. you know shaders 2.0/1.x use less cpu power than shaders 3.0.
I don't want to disturb you nor wait your time. I hope you listen to my idea.

thanks

PersianBoy i believe ZeroFrog was quite clear in his first post here introducing his plugin, here's the quote:
Quote:
ZeroGS does most of its processing on the graphics card, hence the higher requirements because of decryption of GS formats etc. The disadvantage is that it won't work on ps1.4 or below, use gsdx for that and don't ask for ps1.4 support. (gsdx mostly uses the Cpu for its processing, so doesn't need heavy graphics requirements).
So as you can understand the plugin has been coded from the start with high end gfx cards in mind making it very hard to impossible to create a version supporting lower end cards. Its not that the author doesnt want to add support other cards, its that it is not possible to because of the way it handles emulation

You should support only PS3.0 cards an drop all the stupid PS2.0 code :P.

I can't believe people think of emulating a PS2 with such bad video cards.

Some people can't afford to go high high top end that support PS3.0... I'm sure the designers are aiming for the widest audience to use the PCSX. Now trying to support 1.4, even if it works out nicely, the card would still be to slow to keep up. But I don't agree with dropping 2.0 support

Heh, looks like you have quite a collection of BIOS files, and while I won't delve into where you got them from, I will remind you that FFX2's status is ingame only, and not playable.

ZeroGS KOSMOS supports any card with pixel shader 2.0. This includes all of GeForce 5000 series, ATI Radeon 9000 series, etc.

So far, there is barely any image quality impact when using these low end cards, although it will be slower.

hmm, I have a Geforce 6600GT and ZeroGS works fine, a lot slower than GSdx9, but works. Only thing is, I read about that DXCapsViewer on this thread and tried it out. For some reason it shows this:

VertexShaderVersion 1.1
MaxVertexShaderConst 256
PixelShaderVersion 1.4

Now I'm just confused. Or is this program not trustable?

(edit) I think I answered my own question with the information I just showed here.
